About Us

Metropolitan Vein and Aesthetic Center was started in 2009. Previously, the medical director and owner, Adam Goldman MD, focused on hospital-based procedures and was the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Bronx Lebanon Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. There, he helped grow and develop the noninvasive and interventional treatment of Coronary Artery Disease and also treated and performed peripheral arterial interventions in what was originally St Luke/Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York City but eventually became part of the world-famous Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Venous insufficiency has been treated for millennia. The disease and its causes were described in the ancient Egyptian Ebers papyrus in 1550 BCE. Roman surgeons performed vein strippings, and the disease and treatment were also documented in medical texts later in the 16th century.

Around 2009, the endovascular treatment of vein disease started to take hold. Technological improvements, including digital ultrasound, tumescent anesthesia, and improved RF catheters for endovascular treatment, have brought noninvasive treatment to the forefront. Dr Goldman was an early adopter, and because the prevalence of venous disease is so high, about 40% of the population, it became an increasingly bigger part of his practice. Over the last 15 years, with a selected and well-trained staff, they have successfully treated thousands of patients.

Because of this extensive experience and hundreds of 5-star reviews, you should come to the Metropolitan Vein and Aesthetic Center to be evaluated and treated. Each patient receives individual attention, and unlike some other vein centers, we at NY Metro Vein have only 2 centrally located locations so that the quality of care can be maintained at all times.

Although the minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of venous insufficiency have not undergone radical changes, we at the Metropolitan Vein and Aesthetic Center have adopted all the newest advances, including recently the use of Varithena foam sclerotherapy for the treatment of distal disease and superficial varicosities and Venaseal which is an endovascular glue which can be used in certain anatomical areas and which avoid completely the use of local anesthesia and post-procedure compression therapy.

So if you suffer from varicose veins, spider veins, leg swelling or pain, heaviness, or fatigue and want to see what treatments are available to you to improve the look and feel of your legs, please schedule an appointment, and we will be happy to discuss with you the best treatment options available after a thorough evaluation.
